A new teammate with no notification rules hears nothing from Liftify until they set some up themselves. Default notifications fix that: you build a starting set once, and everyone who joins the account gets a copy. You need the Manage Account Settings (details, branding) permission to see this page.

Open the page

  1. In the left sidebar, click the circle with your initials, then User Settings.
  2. Under Company, click Notifications.
The page is headed Default Notifications and explains itself: “Configure default notification rules that will be automatically applied to new users when they join this account.” Existing defaults are grouped by category, with a filter bar once there’s more than a handful. With none set up you’ll see No default notifications yet.
This is not the same page as the Notifications entry under User in the same menu. That one holds your own rules and affects nobody else. See Set your notification rules.

Create a default

Click Create Default. The form is the same one you’d use for a personal rule:
  1. Pick an Event Category and an Event Type.
  2. Choose a FrequencyInstantly, Daily digest, Weekly digest or Monthly digest. For a digest, set the Delivery Time, and the Day of Week or Day of Month where they apply.
  3. Set any Filters the event offers, such as locations, rating or review sources.
  4. Click Save.
One difference from a personal rule: the delivery time is labelled (user’s local time), not yours. Each person who receives a copy gets it at that hour in their own timezone. For the full field-by-field walkthrough, see Set your notification rules — the form is identical.

Change or delete a default

Click a default to open it, edit it, and click Save. To remove one, click the trash icon and confirm: “Are you sure you want to delete this default notification rule?” Editing or deleting a default changes what future joiners receive. It does not reach back and change rules that have already been copied to someone — those belong to that person now, and only they (or someone with the Manage Users permission) can change them.

How the defaults reach a new user

When you invite someone, the invite form shows your defaults as a checklist, all ticked, under Notification Defaults: “Select which default notification rules to copy to this user when they accept their invitation.” Leave them all ticked to give the standard set, or untick the ones that don’t suit this person. You can also add extra rules just for them under Custom Notification Rules. See Invite users and assign roles. Once they’re in, the copies are theirs to edit — the originals on this page stay untouched.
